I die laughing listening to my husband talking to our cats in his funny African/French accent. He also throws in Malinke words. I'm sure SmokeyPokey and Murphy understand him. He comes out with:-

"Deetoo Meurfee (Little Murphy) ouant nyum-nyums? Ouant Beescuieeets?"
"Poo-sseees, mummy end daddy goin out. See you later! Mi fe (love you)"
"Weee get CHICKEN for you! Bye bye!" and occasionally "O deea, 'oo 'as dun zees wee-wee on zee floor eh?" They both adore him.
