The name attached to the song, and others of her's on the message board, is inaccurate. The name was Eilís not Eilish. The spelling differs although the pronunciation is the same. Interesting that the accent also makes a difference in searches in the Café.
Eilís Máire Boland (née O'Reilly Farrelly) (1917-1970) was an Irish songwriter. She was born in Kingscourt (Doonaree) in County Cavan. Her memories of the town and the nearby lake are contained in two of her most popular songs, 'Doonaree' and 'Ballyhoe'.
