I actually hope that
the coolth/cold stays for a little while --
not freezing nor subfreezing, you understand.

Just that a gradual thaw is less likely
to result in floods.
Finally, after these months of snowstorms,
I can see the water level of the flooded rivers and wetlands
gradually lowering. It was getting a little too close
to the road surfaces,
we've had floods that closed roads before.
