Thread Name: Songbooks: Singing Together books on Web Site
Subject: RE: Songbooks: Singing Together books on Web Site
Hi Nigel.I'm afraid I'm very late coming to your site, but Singing Together was a small but important part of my primary school years. I have to admit that I can still be heard singing parts of these songs.      (Only parts as I can't remember all of them, and only when I'm alone!)
I have often wished that I still had those books and have thought that I should look on the web. Well, today I did and was thrilled to see just how much there is, and your Thread seemed to be what I'm looking for.

My era is from the late sixties until 1972. One book I know is called The Chockabox, not certain of the spelling, and one was Russian songs. Another had a song of which part was:I can't go to school today he said; it's raining, it's raining again.
I also remember the Caribbean song Mango Walk. One of the verses was 'Won't you give me back my shilling with the lion on it'.
I hope you can help me re-live those happy times. If not, I have still enjoyed seeing how many others have happy memories. Thank you. Lynne
