It really isn't "judgmental" to expect a singer who gets up in front of an audience to have taken the trouble to learn the song
I know a few people do have genuine problems with learning songs, but the practice is common among many who I know have no problems wahaterver
It's just damned laziness - it shows neither respect for the audience nor for the song
Those who don't want your singing to be assessed should stay at home and sing in the bath to their rubber duck
