We played that song on our first gig ever with OAKTREE in 1981 and the crowd loved to sing along. It's a rather well known song in Germany though it's in English. Try to listen to COUNTRY JOE McDONALD. He used the chorus of this one for a song against killing the whales like they use to do nowadays. It starts with the words: when my grandpa was a boy he went down to the general store, saw a picturebook of a whale, roaring his fountain, splashing its tail. Then he got a sailors dream of sailing down to the salty sea.A union ship and a union crew trying to get us a whale or two...... I can't remember the rest of the words
