Currently, the planet Mercury is in retrograde motion.
It happens two or three times year upon year.

The astrological warning is not to mess about with electricity or electronics
when the planet Mercury, which rules electricity, is out of phase.

One of the public computer workstations where I stay internet-connected,
having no computer of my own,
is in a shop built like a warehouse,
which sells office supplies and does copying and printing.
(As opposed to a public library computer station.)

The other day, I walked in during hours
to rent some computer time.
I asked why all the overhead lights were out.
The nice staffperson explained that
the air-conditioning went down,
and when the repairmen came to make the repairs,
they darned near electrocuted themselves while she was watching.
So they settled for getting the refrigerated air blowing again
with no overhead lighting,
because that way nobody would get any electric shocks
while they were doing what they had to do
to get EVERYTHING running again.

Today, I am back at that same post,
(renting computer time)
and nobody has been electrocuted
and everything is running as one expects it to. Sort of.

Actually the refrigerated air
has some sort of ... oh, I give up.
They have the central air going into some kind of portable thingy
that sits on the floor with a huge whatchamacallit
connecting from the ceiling to the floor.
I don't know what the darned things are called. Sigh.
