It will depend upon how you attach the minidisc to the computer. If the connection is between 'line out' to 'line in' then the computer will only see a file if it is played on the minidisc and the computer is recording in something like Audacity. Can a computer see files if it is connected via USB? I don't know. My minidiscs only do line out.
