I just watched the short documentary called The Lost Songs of St Kilda. There was some piano music recorded by Trevor Morrison, and then the orchestral composers were having a go at it. Unfortunately the musical soundtrack took a poor backseat to the yakkety yak of the narrator, the people commenting on the music, the composers saying how beautiful the music is, etc etc. I just wished they would be quiet and let the music speak for itself. I suppose it was a marketing ploy to motivate people to go and buy the CD.

It was interesting learning about how Trevor Morrison was taught to play the tunes by his piano teacher, who was originally from St Kilda, and also about the life that people lived on the island.
