Further to the link above - the provision of the oranges and, then, lemon cake was funded by a legacy - 'Holborn Estate Legacy'. The same legacy that founded St Clement Danes Grammar School - which I went to in the 70s. I have some more in-depth details somewhere which I will try to find over the next couple of weeks.
