I see vertical arrays of tail lights more and more of late. The first I noticed, though, were on the D type Citroen wagons, which had all of the rear lights on the side pillars around the rear gates. Quite visible as well as being distinctive.
If I could resurrect any design genus, it would be the D types. I owned three of then after I went from considering them just another ugly car to understanding their greatness.
