Under blue-sky sunshine,
I am anxiously watching
the river near town, and the marshes and wetlands around the river.
If the present mild weather does not get too mild,
then the resulting slight thaw
will help bring down the water levels
without flooding. It is a near thing.
You don't have to stop the car, or pull over to the side of the road,
in order to look out the car window as you drive across the bridge
and see how high the water is,
and how close to the level
of the bridge and the road.
