I've had a similar problem on a CD for learning Middle Eastern drumming. Very frustrating, especially as there is a lot of introductory chat at the beginning which you only need to hear once, and certainly not every time you play it. I guess the other solution may be to copy it on a CD burner and artificially create breaks in the track. That way you would have the advantage that CD's have over tapes - immediate cueing to the right track rather than having to fast forward or reverse the tape.
