Alan Lomax's father wrote a couple of books many years ago mainly about the early days of Jazz ??? I must have missed them. Can you give me details.
It was quite an interesting but the only new information that I heard was:

1. that there are mountains in Mississippi.
2. that before tape recorders, recordings were cut directly into vinyl.
2. that Alan Lomax was responsible for boosting Robert Johnson.

Did anyone check these new pieces of information out?
