This morning I asked myself
why the wind sounds so different now.

But the answer on this windy day is plain to see.

I've been hearing a winter wind for months
driving its way through bare branches of bare trees.
That was more or less true six weeks ago.

But now it is the end of May,
and the maple trees outside the window are fully leaved,
and what a difference it makes
to the sound of the wind!
