I still love the supposed Winston Churchill quote which said that;-

"When he was 18 years old he was appalled at how little his parents knew whereas at 21 he was amazed at how much they had learned in three years"

It was the only thing that kept me going when my son was at that obnoxious "know-it-all" stage
