It was ever thus, PFR. The mainstay of the brexitaliban is that Europe is "the enemy". We beat the Germans in two world wars, therefore we can never be partners with them. Never mind that we were allied with the French and Belgians and Dutch for those conflicts. We have always been at war with part of Europe (except maybe Portugal?) so it must be their fault.
