Spaw - are you saying that a right is only a right if you will fight for it? So what is your definition of a right? Anything that a person is willing to fight for. Some days I would fight for a bar of chocolate - but that doesn't mean I have a right to it. Likewise I would fight being killed. Do I have the same right to life as I have to chocolate.I believe rights are more abstract. They are what a substantial proportion of people believe that every person in the world should have - and should not be denied them. The right to life, the right to freedom of speech etc. They are dependent on the community, but not necessarily on the individuals ability to stand up for them. Thats why we have human rights laws - to help protect the weak who cannot defend their rights so easily.
