"Godel, Escher, Bach" is not worth bothering with. Pretend profundity.

I've just finished Leonora Carrington's "The Hearing Trumpet". Starts out mildly wacky and lurches into a new kind of unimaginable strangeness every few pages. From Wodehouse to the apocalypse. Never read anything else remotely like it.
