I once sang "a Trooper Watering his Nag" at a folk club and the final verse (in my version) goes.

"There was an old woman lived underneath the hill
ch with me rowdy dowdy dow, and me rowdy dowdy day
And if she's not dead, she'll be living there still.
ch Ah huh ha! Is it so, is it so."

And one woman thanked me because she remembered the verse from childhood and had never heard the whole song.
