John Eaglesham used the same tune for his song about 'Inveroran'.

As a lifelong Scottish patriot. John could never accept that it was an English tune, his argument being that it was 'far too good a tune to be English'.

This was, of course, said tongue-in-cheek, but at a Kent festival, when I was introducing my own effort at 'Inveroran' I quoted John's comment- it went down quite badly with some English 'nationalists, who took it seriously.
