more detective work on euphemism

(at our local folk festival site years ago, there was a sign on the relevant building saying: "COMFORT STATION" which seems about as close to the early French term as any.
The crew was preparing the site one day and decided to break for lunch. Mary LaMarca..our late Mudcatter lamarca... said "I'll join you all in a bit. I have to go to the euphemism."
