My Mom was an expert spinner (spinning wheel). Looking for a challenge and cheap source of fiber she got the idea that a dog groomer would have plenty of various near exotic fiber. The yarn was soft and angora like, especially Collie. She made a pair of mittens for me and they worked great, untl they got wet. Nice and warm and tan. If they ever touched snoe ther immediately released an nvisible clound of an aroma of WET DOG. Even if I took them off my hands reeked of wet dog.
No matter how much fabric softener or Febreze I tried nothing would cut the oder. I wore them for a time when it was dry outside.
I have not gotten arthritis so they must have worked.
