It probably will not come as a great surprise to anyone that the Folklore Society of Greater Washington has been forced by circumstance to cancel our 2020 weekend. A huge disappointment, to be sure, but it seemed the right thing to do, as getting 140 or so folkies together in smallish spaces for group singing doesn't seem like a really good idea these days.

We do, however, plan to resume our annual gathering in 2021! We have reserved our usual site (West River Center on the Chesapeake Bay) for September 24-27, 2021, and we will urge all of you to join us! It's always wonderful, and I expect it will be even more so after a year's hiatus. More on 2021 in due course.

Meanwhile, we are planning and exploring the possibilities for a virtual, on-line Getaway this year, probably in early October. It won't be the same, of course, but it's the best we can do under the circumstances. Details are still being worked out, and you can be sure we will notify Mudcatters when we get it together. So watch for the Getaway news, and be sure to join in!
