Hi Malcolm, I can think of at least a couple of other places where there is both a Folk Club and a Folk Festival, each with their own management, constitution, bank account, Committee, etc. On the whole they work in harmony, and a good few people are involved in both, and support each other.
I remember this thread from when it came out in 2018, but who would have ever predicted then that we might be where we are now in 2020, with pretty well all festivals and folk club gigs cancelled? Let's just hope that the majority survive once we can safely get back to having such events again.
