Things here (SW of Portland OR) did some quiet rocking, like a rocking chair, but what I mostly noticed was the black cat pinging off the walls, making like a rocket ship through the rafters and back down again. BEFORE the quake and each aftershock hit. I didn't feel the aftershocks at all, but the cat leaped off the window sill and ran heavily back and forth across me (I was in bed) and I did feel her! Cutting down on her catfood ration, effective immediately.
Glad you Seattlites are safe. Saw some funny film on local news last night of a "new product" presentation at Micro$oft headquarters, that was literally broken up by the quake: the camera joggles and bounces, the chandeliers dance, lights flicker, display boards fall, pieces of ceiling tile drop and the audience makes a concerted rush past the camera for the door. Wonder if MS will get more cooperative in the antitrust suit now?
