When I was 15, our band was starting to get basically proficient
in 'pub rock' classic R&B songs..

At that time I had to be the clever clogs and insist we were too young
and inexperienced
to be anywhere near as authentic as real old black blues singers,
still slogging away on tours in their old age..

Which lead to teenage schoolboy joking about how funny the distant future will be
when the Rolling stones are even older* codgers jamming their hits
in a faded rock star's retirement home...

[* By rock/pop standards, they were already getting on a bit in their 30s..
old geezers at least twice our age...!!!]...
