Thread Name: Weed songs
Subject: Lyr Add: AMAZING GRASS and TANK OF ALUMINUM
While I do not advocate drug abuse of any form, I believe it's a crying shame that we have so many wonderful songs about alcohol (for and agin) but so few about marijuana. Heck, I can even think of more songs about opiates ("Willie the Weeper") and about cocaine than I can about pot! Well, I have done my best to remedy the situation. Please take note of the two songs that follow.

AMAZING GRASS

Words: Stephen L. Suffet © 1997, 2001
Music: "Amazing Grace" by John Newton

Amazing grass, how sweet the smoke,
To make a wretch like me,
I once was straight, but now I'm stoned,
I'm blind when once I could see.

Twas grass alone that made me so,
To idle away my time,
To waste my days in a smokey haze,
Twas amazing grass sublime.

And now I've pissed my life away,
And from this world shall pass,
I clear my throat, and prepare to smoke,
From Heaven's amazing grass.

Amazing grass, how sweet the smoke,
To make a wretch like me,
I once was straight, but now I'm stoned,
I'm blind when once I could see.

TANK OF ALUMINUM

Words: Stephen L. Suffet © 2001
Music: "Copper Kettle" by Albert F. Beddoe

Get you a tank of aluminum,
Aluminum or stainless steel,
Fill it with good plant nutrients,
And the seeds from your latest deal...

And you'll lie there watching videos,
Eating pizza day and night,
As your plants keep growing,
In the artificial light.

Buy your supplies with currency,
Never let down your guard,
Don't buy anything on the Internet,
Or pay with a credit card...

And you'll lie there watching videos,
Eating pizza day and night,
As your plants keep growing,
In the artificial light.

My daddy brought weed in from Mexico,
But that was way back then,
And maybe in a year or two,
He'll get out of the pen...

And you'll lie there watching videos,
Eating pizza day and night,
As your plants keep growing,
In the artificial light.
