The club lasted 10 years under Marcus Robbins' care. He rented the facility in 1981 for $1000/month. In 1986 the rent went to $1400. In 1991 the rent zoomed to $3,500/month and Mr Robbins did not re-up the lease. The establishment didn't serve alcohol or allow smoking. I haven't seen anything about their booking arrangements or how they did it. One article said they passed the hat, but I don't know if that pertained also to featured or main acts. It's an interesting piece of history.
