I was a part of the group that wrote this song. It was written by members of the Kensington Welfare Rights Union sitting around a campfire at the Highlander Center in Tennessee during our National bus tour in 1998. The music was taken from a gospel song “Enemy Camp” which we had sung at a host church in North Carolina a few days before. The song was further developed through the bus tour by the KWRU’s Humam Rights Choir.
