Phil,

Up until 1942 in Tony Russell's Discog. the only recordings issued under the name "Hall Brothers" were from three recording sessions, February 1937, January 1938 and September 1938. These were by Roy Hall and Jay Hugh Hall".

There is a note that the name was also used as a pseudonym for Arthur Fields and Fred Hall on the Clarion and Velvet Tone labels.

The two titles issued on the Roan Mountain label were originally issued on the Victor Bluebird label both sides of BB B-8656 by Roy Hall and His Blue Ridge Entertainers. Recorded 9th October 1940. Atlanta.

The only other pre WW2 recordings that I see for Tommy Magness were all recorded on 7th October 1940 Atlanta with Bill Monroe and also with Arthur Smith same date.
