Thanks, Amos, for your post(s) clarifying several things.

- Skinnerian theory is outdated in my eyes. It still has its place in parts of what is learning, but the enthousiasm with which this model was applied to nearly each topic in psychology is gone since decades.
- What the word 'psyche' implies and what not was debated even then in Greece. I'm Aristotelian, of course, and that's why I think the use of 'logos' is the best way to study psyche.
- I'm a materialist in Amos' description, but I'd never really argue against another position. Which position is best is not decidable in my eyes. It is therefore not a question for science and a scientist can as well be materialist as idealist. In particular, I fail to see why a completely materialist father could not say nearly all things that Amos' father 2 says
- I try only to argue with what I consider wrong or one-sided statements on or within science.
- I agree with Amos that the placebo/nocebo effect is far from being understood, but it sure is rather large and ceteris paribus replicable.
- John, I can't help you at this moment. I'll ask someone else with more knowledge on language acquisition.
