Thread Name: Origins: Whoa Mule
Subject: RE: Origins: Whoa Mule
Had a mule down on our farm,
He had a strong back.
Met the Texas railroad train and
Kicked it off the track.

cho: "Whoa, old mule, Ms. Liza you keep cool.
Ain't got time to kiss you now, I'm busy with my mule"

Had a goat down on our farm,
Ate up old tine cans.
When those little goats were born,
They came in Ford sedans.

Had a cat down on our farm
Swallowed a ball of yarn.
When those little cats was born,
They all had sweaters on.

From an LP by Ralph Lee Smith about 1978
I think it was the first tune I learned on dulcimer.
(I seem to remember a verse about a dog... gotta go listen again.)
