My sister is a good friend of Jo Cox's mum and watched Jo grow up from a little girl, through her teenage years and as an accomplished grown-up as she became a cherished local MP. One of my dearest friends in the 1970s was Blair Peach, a very fine man who taught me how to fight racism and stand up for working people's rights, murdered by a policeman. Well, whaddya know... :-(
