As Guest suggested, Word is not the best, most intuitive word processing program. It became dominant because of the effective marketing of u-no-hoo. I'd take WordPerfect back ina heartbeat. Yeah, in my dreams.

Having said that, here is my list of ways to get more text on one page.

By adjusting:
Font size
Character spacing
Line spacing
Page Margins
Column width
Space between columns

Of course, font size, character spacing, and line spacing affect readability, especially important to some of us who are a bit older. And some of the lyrics that I have transcribed just will not fit on one page. Just as in life, not everything is neat and perfect.
