Did anybody besides me check the website, hymnary dot org?

First of all, the Author, Wilhelm Horn, has listed at that site,
at least eighty entries in German.
Some of these are probably duplicates in which
one listing gives the opening line
and another listing, the song title, should the two differ.

The brief paragraph on the Author states that,
once settled into the Protestant German-American diaspora,
Horn was busy as an editor of several German-language periodicals,
and the denomination is given as "Evangelical" .
I will look further.
Haruo is spot on, of course,
specifying that Horn is a German-American immigrant.
