We sang this in my Liverpool secondary school sitting on P.E. benches (forms) when we had our weekly singing lesson.
The teacher was Mrs Scott a plump and strict Welsh music teacher.
I am now 71 and she taught us this song , the words and music have stayed with me.
Who is Sylvia is another I remember. I was from a poor family and it was unlikely that I would have come across these beautiful pieces of music outside of school.
What a loss singing lessons are in schools today.
