I'm starting to get into the flow of doggerel here. How's this for the first version:

My father he did marry me
To a man who displeased me
I did send him to the fair
He brought nothing back from there
But a stick from an apple tree
With which he means to batter me
First my right side he will strike
Then my left side alike
If you beat me, I'll run away
I'll go dance in the woods all day
And teach all the young girls the same way!
