Thanks for finding that, Jonathan. Though it remains the only "field recording" of the song I've heard, it's too bad it's believed to be "genuinely" a field collected song, since the informant, Doney Hammontree, of Farmington, Arkansas, owned Randolph's Ozark Folksongs Vol. 2; his words match them exactly since he was apparently reading the book while he sang. Still, it is neat to hear it actually sung in a more traditional way though.

Apparently the original informant was a Mrs. Judy Jane Whittaker, and her song has appeared elsewhere under the title "On To Richmond" or "We Have the Navy"
