Riggy Rackin sent me a link to a YouTube recording of a performance of "Pickle Tree Carol" by Lani Herrmann with the In Harmony's Way group. Yes, the melody is quite different from "Cherry Tree Carol." I should have believed Lani about how the melody was different. I would see her at San Francisco's Camp Harmony the week after Christmas every year for almost twenty years, and I learned a lot from her. May she rest in peace.
