Good points, Diolch. Ask not what folk clubs can do for you but what you can do for folk clubs :-) There will always be a place for traditional music but for it to survive and spread it must be a living thing. For too long people have tried to pigeon hole it and it will not stay in one place. Sadly, I suspect that this thread will turn into yet another "what is folk music? " discussion :-(
