Thread Name: Woody third but Judy triumphs
Subject: Woody third but Judy triumphs
This fromt he BBC ONline: I'm not sure about the last 2 or the baseball song but I guess a lot of these are among everyone's favourites. Judy Garland wins but Woody is at 3 and Louis and Fats get in there plus the Duke. Strange West Side Story get in there rather than a particular song. Story follows:

Over the Rainbow sung by Judy Garland has been voted the best song of the 20th Century, according to the American music industry. In a poll of critics, musicians and industry executives conducted by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and the National Endowment for the Arts, the song from the 1939 film Wizard of Oz heads a list of mainly American tastes.

"These are songs a lot of people would recognize if they were white, middle-class and old," Bob George, of the Archive of Contemporary Music, said.

"It's a great list for people who go to baseball games."
