1. But soon I got accustomed. We hardly thought at all,
Till sixteen men and women We wantonly did kill.

2. But soon we were discovered. And both laid into jail;
I knew that I was guilty. My heart began to fail.

3. So against me turned King’s evidence, And swore my life away,
But justice now looks down on him, His country he must fly.

4. My bloody life is at an end.
So I bid you all adieu.
