I watch the real-life emergency medical shows on TV, from Oz and UK, but usually there are a few different people's stories packed into one episode. Your story has enough twists and turns to be one show on its own! And here was I thinking you were having a well-earned rest because the drama was over.

I'm so happy that cancer hasn't reared its ugly head. That would be just too much.

And no, the emergency departments and hospitals are overstretched everywhere so I doubt whether there would have been less runarounds elsewhere.

As I said earlier, with the problem diagnosed that is half the battle. Now to get on with the treatment and recovery - which may not be pleasant, but the light might possibly be visible on the horizon. (I was going to say "at the end of the tunnel" but it seemed a bit too *relevant* to your condition. LOL)
