UPDATES

In response to this thread, new prayer requests not posted in threads have come in, and several people have signed up to be part of the Prayer Chain. In addition, several requests for information have been sent in.

The technical management of the prayer list has changed somewhat, and one prayer chain member found the changes a bit less personal than the way it had been done in the past. So now, new urgent requests are sent around the way I used to do them, and then periodically the whole list is edited into the table of current requests and this is sent around.

It seems to be working well to ask people posting thread prayer requests if they want their request sent on to the Prayer Chain.

There have been a few instances where the prayer of one has resulted in a reply from another, of support. I have forwarded these, but the main focus continues to be prayer as asked, rather than advice.

It's been a real privilege to do my part of this. On "Prayer Chain" day, when the material is bing edited together, there is a sense I described to one person of a mighty fountain of care and attention that rushes up in pulsating plumes like a fountain. It goes right through me and goes on, up and away, in a delightful way that is quite invigorating for me. (I think my most accurate prayers, over the matters submitted, occur then.)

And nearly every time the list is reworked, an amazingly compassionate request for a new prayer need comes in just before sending the list out, or a new prayer partner will join.

These things tell me that we are doing something right. So I ask, Lord, what next, to make this work even better?

I'd appreciate a couple of things.

First, if you are a person who has asked for prayer, please send updates also, as things change. Especially, please send your thanksgivings for the blessings, large and small, that you notice occurring in the area for which prayer was asked. Not only is this a smart thing to do in practical terms, and not only is it what I understand God asks of us-- we all learn from one another's prayers and thanksgivings.

Second, I could really use a Mudcat volunteer with edit functions to join this effort and help maintain this thread. This person would also hold a copy of the address book and administrative materials, so that the operation of this list does not depend on my health alone.

Third, if you are a member of the Prayer Chain, please help keep this thread refreshed from time to time. You never know when the need may arise when I'm not looking.

Thanks to all the people participating in this effort.
