All smiles again! Apparently a crowdfunding thingy has raised thousands in a couple of days to restore the missing floor! Now why didn’t the original committee think of that before issuing the doom-laden announcement a few days ago? A further copy and paste from their Facebook page.

“ *Thank you so much to the wonderful Sidmouth Folk Festival community who have given so generously to ensure the Bulverton has a dance floor this year. You did it!

We are quite overwhelmed at the response and it’s an indication of your passion and commitment to the festival, to dancing and to LNEs that you raised more than £10,000 in a little over three hours.

To ensure the continuation of the Bulverton as a dance venue next year and in future years, we have decided to keep the crowdfunder open and the money we raise from now on will go towards the sustainability of the venue - more on that coming soon...*

Help us floor the Bulverton! After your incredible community response this week, we're coming to you for help.

We're running perhaps the shortest crowdfunding campaign we've ever seen. Although the crowdfunding campaign 'officially' finishes later, we have to know by Monday 24 July if we're going to go ahead or not. If we haven't hit the target by Monday afternoon, we'll end the campaign early. So we really need your help.

There's no minimum donation, and everyone can have a badge (generously donated outside of this campaign).

Please note Crowdfunder will add an automatic tip - this can be deleted.

THANK YOU”
