My hands started hurting a year or so ago. I got a blood test to check for rheumatoid arthritis which came back positive. The New Zealand health service gave my hands and feet a thorough checkout via untrasound, xRays and MRI scans so I know what damage is already there. Conventional treatment of painkillers prescribed and working so far.

Try to get tested to eliminate or confirm whether you have RA or not.

Best guitar moved to someone else and light weight strings on the other guitar rendering it playable. Lots of unaccompanied stuff with a few needing guitar has proved the best route for me.
