People 18 years old and over can buy and drink alcohol in a licensed premises or shop, accept it is 16 and over for shandies.

16 and 17 year olds can drink beer, cider or wine in a licensed premises if it is served with a meal, they are with an adult and an adult buys the alcohol for them.

14 to 17 year olds with an adult and can’t buy or drink any alcohol and 18 year olds and over without an adult can enter a pub and under 14 year olds will be allowed to enter with an adult if the landlord has a children friendly certificate.

5 to 17 year olds can drink alcohol at home or in other private houses with an adult and under 5 year olds can’t drink any alcohol unless with a doctor in a medical situation.
