In the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia
stood a cow on the railroad tracks.
Twas a nice old cow with eyes so kind,
but you can't expect a cow to read a railroad sign.
Now this cow, she stood on the middle of the tracks
and along came a train and hit her in the baaaack.
Now her horns are in the Blue Ridge Mountains
and her tail's on a lonesome pine.
