following my earlier post ( way up above ), I'd just like to point out that the Little Brother Montgomery record was preceded a couple of years earlier by Frank Stokes' 1928 'It won't Be Long Now' ( part 2 ), which has the lines ' One of these mornin's, mama & it won't be long, 'fore you miss your good man rollin' in your arms' - not to say that LBM's record wasn't the source for the Lomax recording, but it may itself have precedents? Not to detract in any way from Bob C's magnificent accomplishment in coming up with a classic.
